British scientists have developed a knee brace generator power - A group of British scientists in conjunction with the university of Cranfield (Cranfield University) has created a knee brace that generates electricity from motion. Initially, development was intended for military purposes, but later it was decided to make a patch available for the mass consumer.
At this stage, engineers managed to make a proto type to produce about 2 MW of electricity. Inthe future we plan to raise this level to 30 mW.
New technology may prove the salvation of men, who have to wear a weight of special equipment with heavy batteries. Using just two brace(one foot) can receive up to 60 mWof useful power. However, the resulting charge is sufficient only to low-power GPS-navigator. Modern mobile phones use up to 1300 MW.
According to scientists, the launch of the devicein mass production can reduce the cost of up to 10 pounds (about 15.50 dollars). However, the timing for which will commercialize the product, are not reported.
